Youth News

Welcome to Our New Coordinator of Youth Ministries!

Halldor Gudmundsson joined our staff on October 2, bringing with him more than twenty years of youth ministry experience in leading youth groups, writing curricula for youth, directing a YMCA camp, and training other youth leaders. Halldor sees his most important role as helping to create confident young leaders willing to step out and take risks because they know they are loved by God. By putting leadership into the hands of youth, he creates space for grace as he lets them learn by experience.

In addition to working 17 hours per week in this position, Halldor will continue to serve as the Director of Christian Education at Pilgrim Church where he works fifteen hours per week and is present two Sundays per month.

Halldor hails from Iceland and gained much of his experience there. He and his wife, a professor of statistics at Case Western Reserve University, are the parents of two children. He has earned both a Master of Sacred Theology degree and Master of Arts in Lay Ministry degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iceland.
