Meet our Staff…

Vicki McGaw, Pastor, mcgaw@mhcucc.org

Vicki McGaw joined the staff of MHCUCC in July 2012 as part of a transitional faith formation team and was called as the pastor in November 2013. She brings her passion for justice, extravagant welcome and multi-sensory worship to her ministry. A graduate of Eden Theological Seminary and Michigan State University who has worked on the national staff of the United Church of Christ, Vicki also brings administrative and financial skills developed in her previous career as a bank manager. She and her husband, Mike, are parents of two grown children.

Jarred Sorauf, Director of Music, sorauf@mhcucc.org

Jarred is from Dayton, Ohio, and lives in Lakewood. As an organist, Jarred has performed in concert series in churches throughout the Cleveland area, most notably Fairmount Presbyterian Church and The Church of The Covenant in University Circle. He has also toured historic instruments in Europe, including the Chapel of São Miguel at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and at the Church of Saint-Sulpice and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, France. As a pianist, Jarred frequently takes engagements for weddings, memorial services, and musical theater performances. In 2017 Jarred was one of three American pianists who performed in the Coimbra World Piano Meeting at the Conservatório de Música de Coimbra, Portugal, closely followed by a collaborative recital at The Conservatoire Maurice-Baquet, Paris, France. Jarred also keeps a studio of 10-12 piano students of all ages, and will begin teaching Piano Skills classes at Cleveland State University in the Fall of 2018. Jarred holds a Masters of Music Degree from Cleveland state University, with additional graduate studies in organ and choral conducting from The Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Music from Wittenberg University, and holds the CAGO level of certification through The American Guild of Organists. Jarred joined the staff at MHCUCC in August 2014.

Amanda Zuehlke, Coordinator of Congregational Life, goodnews@mhcucc.org

Amanda joined the staff in November 2017 as Administrative Assistant in our front office. She eventually became our communications person and assistant to Vicki, roles which she continues to fill along with helping in a variety of other capacities. With her over 20 years of experience in desktop publishing, graphic design and marketing, she enjoys employing these skills in ministry and having the opportunity to explore other passions, like spiritual formation, in this supportive community.
 
Amanda and her husband James live with their two teen daughters in North Olmsted. They have one mouthy cat and one obnoxious dog. While Amanda was born in Mayfield Heights, raised partially in Chesterland, Medina, and Fairfield, Ohio – respectively – she considers Toledo her hometown. The family loves exploring Cleveland, especially its amazing metropark system and growing foodie culture.

Michelle graduated from Cleveland Stare University in 1998 with a Bachelors of Business Administration, majoring in Finance. She is married to Steven, and they are very busy with their two young boys. Michelle enjoys gardening and volunteers by helping to maintain our church gardens. She loves to spend time with her family playing and watching sports.

Alicia has over 20 years of experience with office management & program development. She is a graduate of Cleveland State University. She is married to Kevin and has two grown daughters and four grandchildren.
