If you’ve spent any time with us yet, you might have noticed that we take serving seriously (but also have fun with it). There are always many ways to get involved, from on-going commitments to short projects. Below are just a few ways you can roll up your sleeves, make a difference, and get connected through giving your time and talents.
Opportunity: Welcome Corps (Greeter) or Fellowship Hour Treat Provider
  • Commitment: Sundays, approx. once/month around 45 minutes
  • Time frame: On-going
  • Age Range: All (children under 12 need adult supervision)
  • Training: Provided
  • Description: Seeking friendly folks to monitor the front door/lobby and parlor to greet, answer questions, direct and, for first-time visitors, offer welcome bags. Needs to stay focused on providing EXTRAVAGANT WELCOME while serving.
  • Requirements: Light physical – ability to stand for a while, move & bend to get welcome bags; Knowledge of church building and typical Sunday activities

WANTED: folks who “get” hospitality for a couple hours every 4th Sunday. 
Opportunity: Fellowship Hour Setup or Cleanup
  • Commitment: 4th Sunday of month, approx. 2 hours (mostly keeping an eye on things)
  • Time frame: On-going
  • Age Range: Adult
  • Training: Provided
  • Description: If you recognize that having time to connect with others – old friends or new faces – is essential to creating a strong family of faith, we could use your help to make it happen! All you will be doing is creating a hospitable space for people to enjoy some coffee and a treat while fellowshipping.
  • Requirements: Light physical – ability to make coffee, clean and put away dishes, etc.

WANTED: someone with minor computer skills – introverts welcome.
Opportunity: Carillon Programmer
  • Commitment: An hour/month; anytime building open (except worship times)
  • Time frame: On-going
  • Age Range: Mature teen and up
  • Training: Provided; Detailed manual provided
  • Description: We could use your help to program the carillon bells, those beautiful bells up in the church steeple heard throughout the neighborhood.
  • Requirements: Light physical – ability to stand for a while; Minor computer skills

WANTED: someone to organize generosity by reviewing fundraiser applications.
Opportunity: Stewardship Committee – Fundraising Approval
  • Commitment: Flexible; As-Needed; About an hour a week or so
  • Time frame: On-going
  • Age Range: Adult
  • Training: Minimal; Provided
  • Description: Our church is a generous group, and we are constantly featuring worthy causes to support, from runs/walks to food sales to dinners… We need someone to ensure we regularly and fairly review all fundraising requests to vet and approve them in a timely and consistent manner, and to coordinate these opportunities through communication between applicants and staff.

WANTED: someone to keep the pew pockets updated and organized.
Opportunity: “Pew Pefectionist” for the Worship Team
  • Commitment: Flexible; Approximately an hour at least once a month
  • Time frame: On-going
  • Age Range: 12 years & older
  • Training: Minimal; Provided
  • Description: We’re looking for someone to help make our pews as neat and inviting as possible. You would be ensuring the pew pads have forms and pens, the seats are clear of clutter, the hymnals and bibles are stocked, and the pew pockets have the materials needed for the season and look neat.
